hello [blog]

It's been a little busy around here lately, and sadly the blog is one of the first to get pushed to the bottom of my list of priorities! The spring cleaning bug has hit, and I've been working really hard to get our whole house super organized, while Dan has been painting walls (or re-painting), building closets, and the slow *but almost done* project of finishing our basement! My goal is to have all of the projects finished by our 2 year anniversary of being in this house, which is in June. At least the ones that we have started, because honestly... when is a home ever done?? I already have a long list of things to start as soon as we are finished with the others, including the playroom (which is currently an empty room with toys), kids bathroom, building out our master bedroom closet, and cabinets for our laundry room. Wow, that makes me sound super demanding! I promise, I'm not. :)
As always we are busy with the photography biz, but we are going to be slowing that down quite a bit, because Dan's day job just got much much busier! Dan has worked very hard since he started working for Protection One almost 5 years ago. He started out as a residential technician and then was quickly advanced to a commercial technician. For the last 3 years he was placed in the office supervising the technicians and such. Now he mangages the technicians, sales staff and office staff! I am very proud of him, and I know that he will work hard (as always) and will be sucessful (as always). I also know that he will be working more hours (including Saturdays), so I decided that with our busy lives, in order to not get sucked into the routine of day to day, I am scheduling every week a "date" for Dan and I (even if it's just renting a movie at home) and a "family date" (aside from FHE). This week we already started our family date by taking advantage of the warm weather that we had on Sunday and we went for a walk on the Jordan River walking trail! We all loved it, Dan and I love having our camera with us and taking pictures as we walk, and Easton LOVED throwing rocks into the river! He also LOVES our new stroller, which is quite convenient for us, and I would recommend that stroller to anyone that has a toddler/preschooler and a baby.

Here is my favorite picture from our walk (I mean our family "date") on Sunday.

And since we cannot forget the little guy, here he is:
Since I am actually blogging, and I have already been rambling on and on, Nixon had his 4 month dr appointment yesterday, and here are the classic stats from that appt:

Weight: 16 lbs 11 oz

A little bit about his personality lately is that he LOVES to play with toys and little lovies. He gets sad if they get too far away, or out of his sight and he thinks they are gone. He loves to be a "grown-up" baby and always insists on us helping him to sit up, or stand and doesn't like to lay down if we are holding him. He NEVER cries! Seriously such a good baby, but is still waking up quite a bit during the night. He loves it when Easton gives him attention, it makes him smile and squeal and kick his feet! Which is such a cute thing as a mom to watch them together. Another thing about Nixon is that he has clogged tear ducts. If you look closely at the picture, his eyes are watery. That is a constant thing for him. We have eye drops for when they get extra "goopy". But there isn't much we can do until he is about a year old... so we are constanting wiping them! But he is a trooper through my constant messing his eyes, and he is used to waking up in the mornings with his eyes sealed shut, poor little guy.

[2015]

This week will be our 5 year wedding anniversary... so in the spirit of 5, I am going to share what I think our life may be like at this time in the year 2015.

Of course this is all for fun & speculation, and I promise that realize that life is unpredictable and filled with the most wonderful surprizes!

:)

Dan will be 31, and devilishly handsome! He will still be employed by Protection One, most likely as a GM at the SLC branch. We will have moved out of our townhome by then, and living in a great neighborhood home in the south valley or in Saratoga Springs. I will still be in my 20's and I will be spending my days driving Easton and Nixon to school and back, and taking care of our other kiddo and home. Dan and I will still be "on-the-side" photographers, but we will mostly do weddings to keep our time away from home to a minimum. I will also have developed quite a "green thumb" by then, and know how to garden (that is my goal for the next couple of years). Easton will be a cute 8 year old boy in 2nd grade! He will be in after school sports (because that's what Bischoff boys do). He will also be taking piano lessons by then, because I think that all kids need to have that experience growing up! Nixon will be a cute 5 year old boy in his last months of preschool and will be so excited to be getting ready to finally be in kindergarten and the same school as Easton. We will have a little girl that will be having her 3rd birthday soon! Although I LOVE the 3 year spacing that Easton and Nixon have, Emery (our girl name as of now) will be a little closer in age to Nixon because I refuse to have another winter baby and we opted for a spring baby. Also- if Dan and I decide that we want more than 3 kids, I will be pregnant with a summer baby at this time, too!

It's amazing how much can happen in 5 years, and how much has happened in the past 5 years!

Life passes us by much too quickly.
