Happy 6th Birthday to Easton!

On October 16th, our not so little Easton turned 6 years old! Since he didn't have an actual party when he turned 5, he had a small party this year with some of his cousins and a friend from the neighborhood! I kept it real simple, and it was really nice.

He woke up SUPER early, because he was so excited! And we decided to let him open up some of his gifts right away. His party was a LEGO theme, and Dan had put together a Lego table (no pics... bummer) as his gift to Easton. So in keeping with the theme, I picked out a Lego set for him all by myself, and I was proud that I picked one that he LOVED so much!

His special breakfast! We also had eggs, as per his request.

2 months.

Emery celebrated 2 months of life yesterday!

She has grown out of all her newborn clothes.
She loves her bed and sleeps 5-6 hour stretches at night.
She prefers her hands over a pacifier.
She loves to look around and holds her head up pretty well.
I always call her "smiles" because she is just all around happy.
I love to get her to smile.
I took these pics spontaneously after church today.

I'm glad I did :)

Emery's newborn photo session

Newborn sessions are my FAVORITE... unless it's my own,
then it's just stressful for me.

Baby Emery was like this for most of the 3 DAYS we spent trying to get pics...

And in an attempt to get a picture of the 3 kiddos together, it wasn't looking very promising.

Then I got a few that I am SO HAPPY with :)

Here are a couple that worked out for Emery, too... and in reality, we don't need more than a few anyway, right?

Emery's Blessing Day.

This past Sunday wrapped up the most crazy summer for our family. It was Emery's special day! Dan gave her the most beautiful, spirit-filled blessing, and she was awake and perfect the entire time. We had so many family and friends come to support her, and us. I am so grateful for my family. Especially my sisters! They all came together and set up a beautiful backyard luncheon, complete with tables, food and decorations! I couldn't have pulled something so amazing together without them! Dan's brother later asked us if it was Emery's blessing or her wedding. I wish I had taken the time to pull out my camera to get more pictures of her day... I seem to be saying that a lot lately. Maybe I should get the hint for future events?

Easton's FIRST day of [KINDERGARTEN]

This little boy grows up more and more each day! He is such a good big brother to Nixon and Emery, and now he is in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! I am so excited for him to learn and grow more, and to make good friends.
Since we had just moved, our computer and printer were not set up yet to print off a cute sign for him to hold, so I just scribbled one up real quick... maybe I should have just kept it out? Oh, well. I am so happy for our big kid starting school!

All of our babies were born on a Sunday...

Baby Emery finally came!
I was a little worried at the end that I was destined to a lifelong pregnancy... not really, but almost :)

I was actually induced, but it wasn't those "convenience" inductions. Dan and I had about 10 minutes notice to leave our house to get to the hospital in time! Even with that craziness, the timing worked out perfectly because we had just gotten back from picking up my mom from her shuttle from St. George, so our boys were totally taken care of!

The delivery went really well. I progress quickly, or at least that has been the case with Nixon & Emery. As soon as labor starts, it really only takes a little over an hour to progress fully! The nurse had me start pushing through a contraction before the doctor even was called in. Then the dr came and told me to stop until he got his gloves on! Next contraction she was out.

The first thing that I noticed about Emery was definitely how dark her hair is compared to the boys. Her skin tone is darker as well! I think it's because we named her after Dan's mom (her middle name Dalene, is Dan's mom's name), she has brown hair and more olive complexion.

We all just love her to pieces already!

In Easton's words- "Wow, this is WAY BETTER than I thought!"
