Mexico 2011

In November we went to Mexico (about 40 min south of Cancun) for my brother's wedding!

You can see more pics of their wedding here & here

We had originally planned on bringing the boys with us, but at the last minute we decided to leave them home and make it a vacation for Dan & I.
I am glad that we did, only because Dan and I have never really been on a vacation like this before, and also because it has been 5 years since we have been away together (except for over nighters here and there).

We stayed the whole time on the resort, and it was SOOO relaxing, and so beautiful!

My mom, and my sister and her husband was also there. It was so nice to have some family to hang out with!
I wish everyone could have come!

santa.

Easton & Nixon have already been able to see santa! We saw him at a family Christmas party last week, and it was really so much fun to see him. They both LOVED seeing him, I was worried about Nixon, but he did great!

Easton's Christmas List:
army aircraft carrier
cars 2 car for his racetrack
stormtrooper watch
stormtrooper clock
lego city fire station

Nixon's Christmas List:
train
firefighter truck
green (not sure what that is)

easton's [5th] birthday!

easton turned 5 years old on october 16th, which also happened to be just a few days before we moved... so we opted out of a big party, but we still celebrated!

5 is a pretty big deal :)

the 16th fell on a sunday this year, and we started our celebrations on the friday before and made it a weekend of partying! we started off with having easton's cousin tyson come over for a sleepover. since our house was in boxes i decided to decorate his room, and since he had a BYU themed birthday, COSMO came and helped while the boys were sleeping! (cosmo may have gotten an idea on pinterest to fill the room with balloons so when they woke up, it would be a fun surprise... cosmo needed about 50 more balloons to add to the 25 he had gotten, to get the effect he was trying to get)

before we did anything else that morning, easton got to open all of his gifts!

nixon looks pretty scared here, but i love how happy easton is for the gift that nixon got for him :)

easton is waaaayyy into legos right now! looooves them!

after breakfast and boys put together the lego set, we set off for a fun day of BYU!

we went bowling, the bean museum & byu creamery, then to tyson's house to watch a byu football game!

on sunday (his real birthday) we drove up to woods cross to go to church at our new ward, then after we went to my sister's house in orem to have cake with some of my family!

last year & this year, I have traded cakes with my friend for pictures.... best ever! (and writing this reminds me that i never posted about easton's awesome pirate party when he turned 4...)

we let him eat the whole football part of the cake... let's just say he was feeling a little sick (and messy) when he was done.

the past 5 years have gone by so quick, yet i can hardly remember life when our family was just dan and i...

easton at 5

loves loves loves...

legos
star wars
army guys
snickers
green
riding his bike
playing with friends & cousins
listening to "party" music
being home to play with his toys
playing battleship

he is really good at...

sharing with his little brother
following rules
(he can tell you what age you have to be to have ANY lego set)
giving hugs
telling others what they...
should be doing (back to the rules thing)
if they are eating healthy or not

(we are working on the last two)

easton is really such a good, happy kid! we are soooo lucky to have him around all the time :)

Just a Hello.

I have so much to blog about. As always.
I hope to someday catch up on even just the last few months...
but for now, here is a picture of this cute boy sleeping!
I love getting pictures of my boys sleeping, it is such sweet moments. I love them awake, too!

Halloween 2011

Well... I'm now 26.

Which means I am closer to 30 than I am to 20.

Surprisingly though, the older I get the younger I feel.

I think I feel that way because I am starting to realize that life beyond
your early twenties isn't really all that bad.

Not only is not all that bad... I am really looking forward to the next 26 years :)

Beyond that is when I can start feeling old.

Halloween, as always was a awesome! I love spending time with family, dressing up, trick or treating and everything else that comes with the holiday... oh, and being completely doted upon by Dan & the boys. Easton was so cute this year, he tried so hard to do everything he could to make my birthday so special!

This was the first year that we all dressed up matching, and we were a skeleton family:

Fall 2011

Tonight we went out to play in the leaves!
We are now moved and pretty much settled...
so far we are really LOVING the area, and having Dan home with us SO much more now  :)

enjoy some pics... because of course we took some fun ones
(even though, to get technical... it was a little too dark for pictures)

How is it that kids look so much older in a picture?
Both of them are getting so big! Easton just celebrated his 5th birthday, and Nixon will be 2 years old in just a few weeks!
Where did my babies go?

Cornbelly's @ Thanksgiving Point

I recently deleted my Facebook account (gasp!)... since I had a fb account since 2007, I have this funny habit of wanting to "share" things I am thinking & doing. Which means I am actually blogging again! Once I figure out how to get the pics off of my phone, I know that I will blog even that much more :)

Tonight me & the boys (Dan was busy at his parents house & with BYU football) and my brother & his fam went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point.

It was seriously so awesome!
