Earlier this month, Dan got in a car accident in Las Vegas. Totally not his fault, so the last couple of weeks we have been on the phone with the insurance companies to work everything out to get our car back in order. Last night we received a call from the other drivers insurance company and they let us know that this morning we can drop our car off to get it fixed, and that there will be a rental car waiting for us. No complaints there. Anyway, Dan, of course is at work, so Easton and I went in to drop our car off, and pick up a sweet rental. Everything went as expected, paper work and such. The guy that was renting us a car asked for my Drivers License - I expected that. When he looked at it, I hear an "Uh, Oh". Now, that is really never a good thing. To be completely honest, my first thought was that I was too young to rent a car. But I quickly came to the realization that I am not THAT young anymore.
I have always felt young. I am the youngest in my family, and I was always a year younger than everyone else in school ( I was 14 when I started high school, and 17 my first year of college). Even when I got married (at 19), and bought a house (at 20), and had a baby (at 20). I STILL felt young.
BUT, today changed all of that...
The Drivers License that I got when I was 16 years old EXPIRED!
I figure that as far as being young goes, it's all downhill from here. (I know, I know. I still have plenty of "young" years left, but I think that from now on, it is a different kind of young.)
So, the "Oops" is that I have been driving around unknowingly with an expired license, since my 22nd birthday- four months ago. It was a good thing that Dan's office was close by, and he came to my rescue, otherwise the guy (renting me the car) said that he was going to drop me off at the DMV (with a toddler- close to nap time) and pick me up when convenient.
The UP side? Now I can finally get around to changing the address on my license, since I moved 2 years ago. :0)

Thats alright Carrie...at least your car is getting fixed! Mine is in the shop right now too :)
I know what you mean but now I really am getting old!
Sha-
We just got our car back from the shop today, it was fun having a rental for a few days. You reminded me that I should check my license every once in a while to see if it has expired. I never look at it.
Wait- drivers license's expire? Oops- I had better go check. I think that I just sent in for an extension for mine but have never bothered to check!
You are so young!! I had no idea you were ONLY 22!! I was 17 when I started college, too. When is your birthday? Good luck getting everything fixed with the car.
Okay so that bread you made is just about gone and I seriously LOVED it!!! You need to post the recipe or something. I totally want the recipe. Is there a good amount of honey it? Thanks so much Carrie!!!
