moving & organization

We found out last night that we are going to be moving in 2 weeks! Yikes :)

I am overall not very excited, but one aspect that I am kind of excited about is the chance to finally feel organized! It is going to be a NECESSARY thing since we are moving into an apartment. We haven't lived in such a small space since 2005 (the first 8 months of our marriage) and it is looking like we are going to stay living on a smaller scale until we can buy a house... whenever that may be, especially since we are wanting to try and keep our townhouse as a rental property.

So... here are some fun organization ideas that I found on pinterest.

Doesn't that get you excited to be organized?

i love summer...

we were at the outdoor mall in provo today and there was a little splash fountain... the boys couldn't keep away, so we just let them go crazy!

sometimes life needs a day to be planned by a child.

also, for kind of an update (while i'm blogging) both the boys have been at fun stages this summer.

easton is such a big kid- blows me away sometimes. especially since i am doing so much to take care of nixon all of the time, i sometimes forget how little he really is still.
i love the subtle reminders that i get- like today when he was wanting to play transformers with dan... "dad! i am bumblebee & you can be octomus crime [optomus prime]" or the other night when he was playing with a noah's ark set and was looking for the other "aggi-later" [alligator] because he only found one.
when he writes his name, he writes the "s" backwards... i love it so much that i never correct him. i will be sad when that goes away!
he still sleeps with his blue blanket, buddies & watchers.
he still needs me to cuddle him when he gets hurt.
he still loves to be tickled, and held.

nixon has been making strides this summer! his talking has just exploded, he still has such a babble-ness to his talking, but he throwing in words and it's so fun to watch. he calls easton "E.E."... so cute to watch the two of them be brothers with each other.
he goes to nursery at church, and he said his first prayer the other day.
he is no longer in a crib, and is sleeping much better during the night (yay)!
his favorite shows to watch are "ta ta" [thomas the tank engine] and "george" [curious george]. his favorite food is "moo-tee" [smoothie] and he still eats 1-2 bananas each day.
he loves the moon.
his favorite toy is anything that easton is playing with.

destination---> hogle zoo

For Pioneer Day we celebrated by going to the zoo this past Monday! Dan was lucky enough to come along, as well as a few of my nieces... we had a blast!

Smitten.

A few days ago my nieces Storey & Quincy came over to spend the night, and they brought with them the movie Tangled. After watching it about a dozen times since then, I am pretty sure that Easton has a crush on Rapunzel... and I am pretty sure it's because of her long hair!

This wouldn't be his first crush, either. About a year and a half ago, he professed his desire to marry one of his (older) girl cousins. Then this past October while we were at Dan's mission reunion, he very much attached himself to one of the other missionary's wife- who had very long pretty hair...

All the cute girls with long hair in preschool better watch out!
Easton wants to play pbskids.org.

I tell him that he needs to clean up his toys before he can do something different.

He then tells me all the reasons why it is BETTER to keep his toys all over the floor...

1. just in case his cousins come over
2. he likes them out
3. he needs to get to them faster
4. he put them out on purpose
5. he NEEDS to play pbskids.org NOW because he isn't smart enough, and those games help you learn.

I hope that this isn't a sign of things to come... trying to find ways to change my mind.

breakfast this morning.

I may be the only one that LOVES these pictures... I couldn't stop taking them, I probably shot like 50 this morning of just him eating! I think it's adorable. I am also SO happy that Nixon's list of food that he will eat is finally expanding from bread and bananas, even if it's still limited.

He also ALWAYS insists on feeding himself, otherwise he is just fine with not eating at all... I am adopting the "just go with it" attitude.

And here is Easton at breakfast this morning... not as messy but just as cute!

These pictures of Nixon, remind me of some pictures that I posted on our photo blog awhile back of Easton eating! Check them out HERE. Easton looks much younger in these pics, but he was just over 2 years old when they were taken. Time flies.
